Most of my summer has been spent outside of my studio but I did manage to – sell a small painting, receive an honorable mention and gain a few commissions related to the nostalgic theme that I’ve been exploring. I don’t think I’m very different from those artists whose past has been a strong influence on their work. Sure, many artists prefer to separate themselves from their past and create a personal contemporary meaning, social commentary and otherwise. I continue to hone my focus on the past.
